The Sod Buster is a patented, golf practice hitting mat that is designed to simulate the feeling of taking a divot. The Sod Buster uses a Bi-Axial movement, meaning the turf moves on both the horizontal and vertical axis. By allowing the turf to move the Sod Buster eliminates turf shock associated with conventional hitting mats. The design of the Sod Buster allows the turf to move, with the club, down and through the ball for the most realistic feel available on the market. There are many options when choosing your Sod Buster. First, you must choose the size you prefer. We have two standard sizes that come with or without a tee hole, 8”x 48”and 16” x 48”. The 8” is meant to be used for tee shots, while the 16” is meant for irons. Second, you have to choose the type of turf you want on your Sod Buster. Three types of turf are available; hitting mat turf, fairway turf, and rough. The different types of turf allow you to simulate a variety of grasses and lies, rather than just perfect lies on a hitting mat. The turf on the Sod Buster is fastened to a galvanized steel frame, this is the same commercial quality turf used on our golf hitting mats. The turf is extremely strong and durable; these are the same golf practice hitting mats we sell to Universities and Golf shops.
